KBIS is the ideal event to look at the latest and greatest design trends in the Kitchen and Bath industry. Design Trends

Shaker Style, Painted Kitchen Cabinets. Glass inserts and Gold hardware add flare.

The trend in kitchen cabinetry continues to be popularized with painted cabinets with shaker style doors. Accent doors are becoming more popular to add as an easy pop to kitchens. Aluminum framed cabinet doors with glass inserts are a great way to achieve this. Element-Designs, is one of the premier manufacturers of aluminum framed cabinet doors in the United States. Element-Designs showed new back painted glass color options and aluminum frame options. See below an example of their product in use, by California Closets in a custom closet design.

California Closets showing Element-Designs items: Parapan, Elusion Top and AF003 Doors

The picture above shows California Closets beautiful custom closet in the quickly built home. Shown above you can see Element-Designs high gloss, Parapan, drawer fronts and Elusion 1/2″ glass top. The use of the Elusion top is back painted glass that is stenciled to leave the center portion clear so the homeowner can see the contents of their drawer or cabinet. In this case the jewelry organizer is promptly displayed. Element-Designs also added their aluminum framed cabinet doors in their AF003 frame in a gold metallic finish. Both Clear and Satin glass are used in the image above. This is a trend that was seen throughout the show. Multiple uses of materials in the kitchen, bath and organization space are becoming very popular. By adding materials other than wood, homeowners can easily and affordably add their own touch to any space.

Hardware Innovations

King Slide’s New SimLead metal and wood drawer system

King Slide introduced their new SimLead drawer slide system a couple of years ago. At KBIS, they were showing off their new drawer slide in full force. The SimLead drawer slide is the latest and greatest in drawer slide systems. SimLead offers push to open and silent soft-close all in one. The SimLead also has anti-vibration which prevents the drawers from unintentionally coming open during vibration.

Convenience Hardware

Convenience hardware continues to be a growing trend in the kitchen and bath space. Above is an example of clean and organized drawer organization. Overall drawers are becoming more and more popular and finding convenient ways to organizing them is a must. Door lift systems are also very popular and pull down organizers with door lifts, such as the Blum Aventos HF, are a great addition to any kitchen.

Color Palettes and Materials

Benjamin Moores’ most popular colors of 2018!

With paint finishes still being the most popular trend in the cabinet industry, above you can see Benjamin Moore’s best sellers of 2018. This trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down. As mentioned above, multiple materials used in the kitchen and bath space is a large trend. Homeowners will find that using alternative materials with their wood or painted cabinets can add flare and pop to their kitchen.

Final Thoughts and Images

Snow in Las Vegas!

Overall KBIS 2019 was a success. The intermingling of the KBIS and IBS made the show difficult to navigate, but a good way to involve all trades. Vegas experienced snowfall for the first time in over 20 years! We hope everyone made it out safely! We look forward to 2019 and what it has in store for the Kitchen, Bath and Cabinet industries.
